ESF-Project "Soft Skills Online"
- 2006-2007 Lübeck University of Applied Sciences
Soft skills are playing more and more an important role in working life. This is caused by the today´s conditions in the environment of economy and work: the change of economy structure, the dissemination of new information and communication technologies, the importance of knowledge and an increasing competition requires new organisational structures and work content. Network formed enterprises with flat hierarchies need an enlarged competence profile of employees. Thus, soft skills are a determining factor for conservation and fortification of competitiveness, the so-called employability. In the future, the requirement of soft skills will emerge an increasing demand for respective programmes in continuing education. Especially for the protection from unemployment, part-time studies in soft skills are important in terms of a strategy of life-long-learning.
The objective of the SSO project is the development, implementation and evaluation of online courses in the subject of soft skills, based on the oncampus-methodology.
The project is funded by the European Social Fund and the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
MINERVA-Project "M.A.S.T.E.R."
(Mobility, Assessment, Selection, Technology and E-learning Research)
- 2006-2008 Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, Maastricht University, Siauliai University, Dundee University
Master students of European universities dispose of very different levels of previous knowledge. This causes high drop-out rates in the respective study programmes. Preparatory and remedial courses can lead to an increase of study success.
The M.A.S.T.E.R. project aims at the development and implementation of online courses for prospective master students. The courses will be online distance study programmes as it is an efficient solution for students as well as for universities. The project consists of the development and realisation of a common didactical framework, the adjustment of assessment tools and the production of eight pilot courses.
Project information at www.masterproject.info
The project is funded by the Minerva action of the EU-Socrates programme.
