Industrial Engineering (Master)
1. What is the difference between continuing education and the consecutive master programmes?
The main differences are the admission qualifications and the duration of studies.
A prerequisite of continuing education master’s programme is the completion of a first acadimic degree as well as qualifying work experience of at least one year. The content does not necessarily have to be aligned with the previous course of studies. This results in cross-industry exchange within the student group.
Consecutive studies are a bachelor/ master programme with contents that build on each other consecutively, and which cannot exceed a standard period of study of five years in total.
2. What exactly is industrial engineering?
The industrial engineering master programme provides comprehensive skills for handling management tasks and training in procedures and methods that are required to organise business processes in a complex environment. In particular, this includes operative management of IT processes, controlling, human resource management, logistics, business management, and strategic planning. It is an excellent preparation for management tasks in industry (e.g. plant manager, supervisor, or branch manager).
In order to meet the requirements of the international employment environment, the content is offered in English. Support takes place in English or German (depending on the group of students).
3. What admission requirements must be met?
Continuing Education Master Programme
The admission requirement is a successfully completed first academic degree in engineering at a university, for which at least 180 cps according to ECTS have been achived, plus at least one year work experience in the industrial engineering field. In addition, proof of sufficient command of English must be provided, e.g. TOEFL test > 550 points or IELTS>6 or FCE.
Consecutive Master Programme
The admission requirement is a successfully completed 6-semester bachelor study programme analogous to the “International Marketing and Engineering” of the Kiel University of Applied Sciences (180 credit points according to ECTS) or a 7-semester bachelor study programme "Industrial Engineering” with max. 210 credit points according to ECTS.
4. What are the costs of a continuing education master programme?
The tuition fee for the continuing education master programme are 9,900 Euros including the master thesis; payable in max. 36 monthly payments of 275 Euros.
Costs for internet usage, travel costs to participate in face-to-face meetings, and semester fees are additional.

The costs of the consecutive master programme are 78 Euros (those eligible for Bafög pay 53 Euros) per course and semester; this already includes the master thesis.
Costs for internet usage, travel costs to participate in face-to-face meetings, and semester fees are additional.
6. What is the study duration?
