Personalised search for training courses using AI technology
Personalised search for training courses using AI technology
Due to the high speed of technological progress, the ever-broadening knowledge base, and diverse further training opportunities, the individual identification and selection of suitable courses is becoming increasingly complex for those interested in further training. Furthermore, it is difficult for the individual learner to foresee how future-proof specific further training content and targeted competencies will be in a constantly evolving job market.
Project goal
Users of vocationally oriented further education platforms are to be provided with targeted assistance in choosing suitable further training courses through the use of AI-powered solutions.
What is KIM?
It is a joint project and stands for „Artificial Intelligence as a Mentoring Solution for Lifelong Learning (KIM)“
The project partners of the KIM initiative have set themselves the goal of developing an AI-supported solution that, in the perspective, will be capable of leading to recognised educational qualifications via combined course certifications. These further training suggestions are based both on the data stored by the users, such as educational qualifications and competencies from certificates or information from user profiles, and on the individual professional and career aspirations of the users.
Account is taken of an initial self-assessment of the users' own skills carried out by the users themselves, as well as individual preferences (e.g. free/paid courses, time constraints, etc.). The AI considers not only this data for the individual course suggestions, but also data from networked platforms for trend recognition of in-demand skills and on the labour market in order to determine future-oriented skill requirements of the users.
The KIM project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
