KoFW

As the central implementation structure of the skilled labour initiative, the Competence Centre for Skilled Labour Provision and Continuing Training (KoFW) commenced its work on 1 May 2015. The KoFW is an ERDF-funded project from the Regional Economic Programme.

It operates under the auspices of the Association for Labour Market and Structural Policy – Institute of Northern Employer Associations – e.V. in cooperation with the ver.di-Forum Nord gGmbH and Arbeit und Leben Schleswig-Holstein e.V. as social partnership training providers and the FH Kiel Research and Development Centre and oncampus GmbH as scientific institutions.

The Schleswig-Holstein Competence Centre for Securing Skilled Workers and Further Training (KoFW) has been part of the implementation structures of the Schleswig-Holstein Skilled Workers Initiative (FI.SH) since 2015. In the second project phase, the partners of the competence centre will contribute to the successful continuation of the Schleswig-Holstein Skilled Workers Initiative by generating scientific findings, developing proposed solutions and implementing them in projects. The KoFW is to be established as a point of contact for employers, employees, associations, networks and politicians on issues relating to securing skilled workers and further training, in close coordination with FI.SH.

The KoFW operates nationwide and conducts its own research and analyses on the topics of demographic development, skills shortages, and initial and continuing training trends for regions and industries.

The results will be made available to the partners of the skilled workers initiative, the continuing education sector and the regional economy. At the same time, the competence centre forms the central hub for the skilled labour security and continuing education advisory networks.
